Then the Master of Health Informatics (MHI) program is the right fit for you! Further your career as a health professional by learning how to identify, design and manage informatics solutions relevant to health and health systems. 

Learn from prominent faculty who conduct leading research in public health sciences and public health intervention design and evaluation. Apply the knowledge, tools, and skills learned in the MHI program to a real public health setting through a four-month experiential practicum where you’ll obtain unmatched hands-on experience.

This online program can be completed full-time in 16 months or up to four years if you’re a working professional.

Admission requirements

  • An overall 75% average in a four year undergraduate degree program in a health or related field from a recognized educational institution.
  • Experience in the health informatics or digital health field is considered an asset.
  • Evidence of training in logical thinking processes which can be demonstrated by having passed an undergraduate course(s) in areas such as mathematics, statistics, or computer science.
  • Admission is competitive. Meeting the minimum entrance requirements is not a guarantee of admission.

    • Two references are required. One from an academic source, unless more than 5 years have elapsed since the applicant last registered in a university course, in which case both references can be from the professional sources. At least one of the professional referees must be asked to comment specifically on the applicant's academic abilities
  • Proof of English language proficiency, if applicable

    • TOEFL 100 (writing 26, speaking 26), IELTS 7.5 (writing 7.0, speaking 7.0)

    • The School of Public Health Sciences does not consider international applications whose English language proficiency scores fall below the minimum requirements
