accompanied by Sauteed mushroom and beans (topped with homemade maple mayo dip), our famous garlic bread, and chocolate frosted brownies to finish off the meal.

 

Red Wine Pairing

2008 Anciano Tempranillo Gran Reserva
Old World (Spain)

This has been the wine you've been waiting for!

This thesis has taken a long time to develop: harvested from 30+ year old grape vines, this elegant, yet smooth red, will want you 'defending' your title more than once. This grape variety (Tempranillo) is the mainstay for top Spanish wines.

Pouring a brilliantly garnet gem colour (Max would approve), expect aromas of sandalwood, vanilla and raspberry; the palate is dry and medium/full in body with flavours of red berry and cedar spice, balanced by medium acidity and velvety tannins.

This vintage won Bronze at the International Wine Challenge.

We showcased this wine at this past week's Whine & Cheese, and the membership resoundingly approved!

White Wine Pairing:

Conor Sur Bicicleta - New World (Chile)

 

Seductive as the deveil in the big white Rhone region (some of the most expensive in the world), this white wine punches well above its weight, for the intellectually curious grad.

Pale gold colour; tropical fruit aromas with melon, peach and orange blossom notes; dry, medium bodied, with great acidity and flavours of grapefruit, peach, green apple and pineapple; very good length on the finish. This will pair excellent with any curry/south Asian dish.

 

Beer Pairing - Beau's Dunkel (new on tap)

#Bar none that this Beau's All Natural Brewing Co. #beer, is #lager than life.

Introducing Dunkel - featuring notes of mocha,bread crust, and hints of chocolate. A malty lager that you'll mistake as a​n ale. Yet it has that crisp finish, that will allow the smoked curry to beautifully blend, and still bring out the spice.

Of course, non alcoholic beverages are also available. Ask your friendly bartender, Eric, for a Grad Sunset (OJ/Cranberry/Ginger mix) for only half a Laurier bill. WLU grads pay full freight ;)
