Pub Lecture Series: Lee SmolinExport this event to calendar

Tuesday, November 20, 2012 4:00 PM EST

The GSA would like to welcome Dr. Lee Smolin to our third Pub Lecture Series talk this term. It will be taking place at the Grad House, Tuesday November 20th at 4pm. Details below:

What explains the laws of nature?

Abstract:  Physics has progressed to the point where we know enough about the laws of nature to ask why these are the laws that apply to the universe.  I will discuss several possible answers and argue that the only one that is scientific in the sense that it leads to consequences which can be tested  by experiment, is that the laws of nature have evolved in time

Please join us for a beverage and our third informal lecture at the Graduate House this term! Our next talk will be given by Dr. John Mielke from the University of Waterloo School of Public Health and Health Systems, December 5th at 4pm. Details to come!
