Short Description

The President is the Chief Executive Officer of the Graduate Student Association. Within the scope of the corporate bylaws and policies, the President has full operational control and responsibility for the Association, including budgeting and spending. The President is an ex-officio member of the Board, and as such is a fiduciary. The President works twenty to thirty hours per week and historically has been compensated at the current TA rate.

Are you an enthusiastic person who’s passionate about improving graduate students’ experiences? We’re looking for graduate students to join our Board.

Established in 1972, the Graduate Student Association exists to promote and represent the interests of all full- and part-time graduate students at the University. The Association operates a social club (the Graduate House) and provides a variety of services for the benefit of our members, including a regional bus pass and health and dental plans.

Health & Dental Change of Coverage Deadlines

Deadline for enrolling your family/spouse/dependents or for opting out of the GSA Health and Dental Plans for fall 2017 is October 4th.  You nee proof of coverage from an alternate plan to opt out of the health plan.  No proof of coverage needed for the dental plan.  Enrolling or Opting-out is for the whole plan year, ending August 2018.  After the deadline expires, you will no longer be able to opt-out of the plans.

We, the Graduate Student Association - University of Waterloo, acknowledge that we live and work on the traditional territory of ‎ the Attawandaron (Neutral), Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. The University of Waterloo is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land promised to the Six Nations that includes ten kilometers on each side of the Grand River.
