Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs is pleased to announce that the Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship (PDF) 2023 competition recently launched.
This fellowship, valued at $70,000 per year for two years, is the most prestigious and competitive of all the Canadian tri-agency postdoctoral opportunities, with only 70 available annually across Canada. An applicant for a Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Waterloo must have secured the endorsement of a Waterloo supervisor(s) – the deadline is June 1.
Further details on Waterloo’s application process and timelines can be found on the Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships web page.

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is co-ordinated within the Office of Indigenous Relations.
