Jeff Casello, Associate Vice-President, Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs, is thrilled to welcome the 2022 AMTD scholars (photo from left to right): Jenna Gilchrist, Reuben Martens, Samantha Kaitlyn Patterson and Paula Reis to the University of Waterloo.
These emerging scholars join the University as the third cohort of the AMTD Waterloo Global Talent Postdoctoral Fellowship. The five-year program was started in 2020 and made possible by a generous donation from the AMTD Foundation, led by Waterloo alumnus Calvin Choi (BA ’01).
The 2023 competition is also now launched – applications are due December 1, 2022. Apply today.

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is co-ordinated within the Office of Indigenous Relations.
