Alice Eisen Award

Alice Eisen

Alice Eisen was a student at Conrad Grebel from 1980 to 1984 and served as Student Council President during the 1983-84 school year. She graduated in 1986 with a BA in Psychology from the University of Waterloo.

“Alice Eisen had a wide circle of friends during her short life, and I consider myself fortunate to have been one of them. The enduring images I have of Alice abound with joyfulness, enthusiasm, and creative energy. Alice was always laughing! Her infectious zest for life underscored her ability to relate to, interact with and motivate individuals of diverse character and personality.”

- Karen (Persoage) Lycklama (roommate)

“Hendrika Alice was my sister and best friend. She loved her friends and family dearly, and was often on the phone when she lived far from those she loved. Her goals and dreams included travelling, serving God, caring about her family and friends, and fulfilment in her work. She saw completion of many of these dreams and goals in her short life. We miss that teasing and humour and laughter in our daily life now, but are thankful to God that we were able to have Alice in our family for a while.”

- Grace Eisen (sister)
