Richard and Betty Dyck have a long history of church involvement and volunteerism in the community. They were very involved in their school community during their time as teachers in Elmira.
As members of Elmira Mennonite Church they have also been involved as volunteers in various roles in MCC Thrift Shops and engaged as board members at church related organizations like the House of Friendship and Conrad Grebel University College.
“Our family wants to encourage a culture of volunteerism with students at Grebel and these awards will enable the college to continue to attract students who have a spirit of generosity and involvement in college life,” said Richard who attended Grebel when the residence opened in 1964.
About the Award
This award supports and promotes recruitment of excellent first-year students who exhibit a spirit of service and volunteerism for entry into the residence at Conrad Grebel University College.

Amount: One award of approximately $1,000.
