Professor
Robert
Shipley
became
an
active
associate
of
the
Heritage
Resources
Centre
(HRC)
as
a
graduate
student
in
the
1990s.
He
organized
events,
published
occasional
papers
and
assisted
with
the
functioning
of
the
Centre.
In
2003
he
became
director,
a
University
appointed
position,
succeeding
the
founder
and
first
director
of
the
HRC,
Gordon
Nelson.
He
remained
in
this
position
until
his
retirement
in
2016
