Adaptive Technology Centre

The Adaptive Technology Centre is available to all eligible users.

The centre is on the main floor of the Dana Porter Library, at the back. Follow the contrasting path to the right of the Information desk all the way to the door.

The centre:

  • Offers quiet study space, study rooms, and computer workstations equipped with adaptive software.
  • Has "The Rest Stop" (most comfortable chair on campus).
  • Is open during all library hours
  • Is a scent-free zone. Join us in an awareness of the impact of scented products on the health of others. Please, no perfume, after-shaves or other scented products.

Please familiarize yourself with the centre's guidelines:

  • Be respectful of others — do not disturb their concentration.
  • Use a study room for tutoring or studying with a friend.
  • No cell phones.
  • No hot or aromatic food.
  • No scented products.

Study rooms and workstations

In the centre, each of the seven workstations and two study rooms has an electronically adjustable table and ergonomic chair.

The study rooms can be booked ahead of time.

Other equipment includes a closed-circuit television (CCTV) / videomagnifier and the "Rest Stop" (the most comfortable chair on campus).

The three computers in the main area are equipped with:

    • Kurzweil 3000 (scans and downloads text, then reads it aloud)
    • ZoomText (magnifier and reader)
