Do-it-yourself Dana Porter Library alternative text

Now you too can have your own library. By following the simple instructions to build and fit together the three main modules you can have this library open for business in minutes. Hang it from your Christmas tree. Put a gift in it and give it to someone. Give it to the cat to play with. This is sure to be an enjoyable Christmas project.

You may want to glue it to some light cardboard (use rubber cement) to make it stiffer, however this is not necessary. White glue is the easiest to use in putting this together.

  1. Construction of the modules: do three times
    1. Cut along all solid lines to cut out the module. Lightly score the dotted lines to make folding easier.
    2. Fold the module into a square ring and glue using the tabs.
    3. Fold over the smaller set of flaps and glue using the tabs.
    4. Fold over the larger set of flaps and glue using the tabs (if there are any).

Make sure the module is square as you glue the flaps.
  2. Fit the modules together and you have a library building.
  3. The top modules are for the more dexterous. Fold and glue the two parts as indicated. Fit one over the other to make a cruciform-shaped module. Glue this on top of the building.
