Parchment, measure: 302x217mm, 155 fols, two columns at 38 lines. Beginning of second folio: Lors de ville ou talant d'aler. The manuscript contains the Roman de la rose. At the end, the following lines have been added:

Explicit le Romans de la Rose,
Ou l'Art d'Amours est toute enclose.
Nature rit, si com moy semble,
Quant hic et hec joingnent ensemble

Three foliate initials: "B" with gold leaf extenders located below the image; a "C" and "O" are located on the right.

Frame:

Simple gold leaf exterior frame with gold leaf cornerpieces. Inner frame is pink with a white zigzag pattern with decorative details on both the top and bottom of the frame and a white wavy pattern on the left and right sides of the frame. Four gold leaf foliate extenders appear at the right side of the frame.

Background:

Blue background with a white and gold diaper pattern (checkerboard distribution surmounted by a diamond-shaped pattern).

The Duenna is holding a chaplet, which she is giving to Fair Welcoming.Fair Welcoming's hands are both raised. His body is turned away from the Duenna. The gestures are a reference to Fair Welcoming's mistrust of the Duenna.
