Detailed manuscript information (based on Ernest Langlois, Les manuscrits du Roman de la rose. Description et classement, Geneva: Slatkine Reprints, 1974, p. 158 and early manuscripts at Oxford University.

Parchment, measure: 239x172mm, 165 fols, two columns at 38 lines. Beginning of second folio: Pour oïr des oisiaus les sons. The manuscript contains the Roman de la rose on fols 1r-153r and the Testament on fols 154r-170v. The Testament is incomplete at the beginning.

Gray, brown, blue, red, green, black, gold leaf

Initial:

Decorated gilded initial “L” on blue and red background with white ink detail. Foliate (one leaf) extends from the top of the initial.

Rubric:

Above miniature (2 lines). Reads: “Co[m]ment le jalous en ragie bat sa fame / Et la mescroit espoir sanz reson”

Frame:

Gilded outer frame with red and white inner borders, with gilded foliate extending from the left and right sides of the miniature.

Background:

Diaper pattern background. Square grid is composed of 2 thin gilded lines over blue background with red and light blue details creating a star pattern.
