A big congratulations to our beloved director, Prof. Daniel Henstra, for receiving the Waterloo Arts Service Award tonight!
Since 2011, students from various MPS cohorts have earned continued success working at the Department of Canadian Heritage. Starting their career journeys as co-op students, these MPSers gathered top-notch policy experience that helped them acquire post-graduation employment with the federal public service.
Congratulations to five MPS alumni from the Class of 2013, Daniel Prelipcean, Mir Islam, Andrea Peebles, Thomas Barakat and Jeremy Yao, for having an "outstanding" peer-reviewed chapter published in an international book.
Thomas Barakat, MPS Class of 2013, is published in the winter edition of the Ontario Good Roads Association (OGRA) Milestones magazine. His articles are titled "Seeing Infrastructure in 3D: Ontario Good Roads Association Advocacy Day 2013" and "Multilevel Governance in Canadian Emergency Management". The multilevel governance article features research by MPS Program Director, Dr. Daniel Henstra, from his new book entitled "Multilevel Governance and Emergency Management in Canadian Municipalities".
On November 22, uWaterloo co-op students Christopher Gunn-Isaacs (MPS) and Alex Cho (AFM) received the “Over and Above” award from Deputy Minister of Finance, Steve Orsini, for their efforts with the Frost North Ministry of Finance United Way Campaign. The students collectively raised $4,000 for United Way on behalf of the Office of Economic Policy.
