Professor Henstra's research centres on public administration and public policy. In his work on emergency management and climate change adaptation, he has studied the policy process of federal, provincial and municipal governments, and has analyzed the complex, networked relationships among elected officials, public servants, stakeholders and the public.

The go-to-person for current students, Jessica is a graduate of the Master of Public Service program and the recipient of the 2014 MPS Excellence Award. Before making the move to Waterloo, she completed her B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies (Law and Society) at the University of British Columbia.
The go-to-person for the program, Sheila spends her days building a community at the MPS program space and her nights with her golden retriever Lucy. She is an alumnus of Waterloo’s Honours B.A. program in Rhetoric and Professional Writing with an option in Speech Communications, Western’s M.A.
Kayla is an alumnus of the Master of Public Service program, and was the Master of Public Service Association’s Director of Administration from 2010 – 2011. Prior to graduate studies, she completed her B.A. in Social Development Studies (Hons) at the University of Waterloo.
