Thursday Talks with Diane Enns

Thursday, October 31, 2013 12:10 pm - 1:00 pm EDT (GMT -04:00)

Diane Enns will be giving a Thursday Talk about her research on post-conflict peace building in Bosnia.

Dr. Enns has written about identity, violence, ethno-political conflict, moral agency and responsibility. She is currently working on a book project called “Politics Without Violence.”

The title of Dr. Enns’ talk is “What does peace have to do with politics?” Here is her description: “In this informal talk I will add my voice to a recent discussion among peace and conflict scholars who call for a more politicized peacebuilding theory and practice. With reference to my research on conflict transformation, especially in Bosnia-Herzegovina, I will share some concerns about the inability of current paradigms (like reconciliation, transitional justice or peacebuilding itself) to account for the complexities of rebuilding communities after violent conflict.”

Come out to hear about Diane's research at our Thursday Talk. Bring your lunch!
