After twenty years in the psychology/counselling sector and seven years of specialization in war trauma recovery, Dawn Penner now offers consultant services for INGOs. She will be speaking about her experiences from this past fall when she spent three months as a consultant for Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) conducting research for war trauma needs assessment and took part in  curriculum development and training for MCC's partners in Lebanon and Syria.

This talk, entitled "South Sudan: as seen through the eyes of one of the lost boys" features speaker Jacob Deng. As one of the "Lost Boys of Sudan" Jacob was forced to flee his home country for Ethiopia and then Kenya alongside some 27 000 other displaced children at the age of seven in 1989.

Mary Lou Klassen, the current Peace and Conflict Studies Undergraduate Advisor, and her husband Dave Klassen will be speaking about the early response teams peacebuilding work taking place in and around Jos, Nigeria.

Lynette Grace is a victim of violence who forgave and reconciled with her perpetrator 22 years later.

Diane Enns will be giving a Thursday Talk about her research on post-conflict peace building in Bosnia. 

Eric Lepp will be leading an Internship Information Session to answer questions about the MPACS internship program to current PACS students.

Note: This "Thursday Talk" will be held on Wednesday. Sarah Adams is the former MCC country rep for Syria/Lebanon and will be joining us to speak on the conflict in Syria and her experience of doing Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) work in a conflict zone.

Fauzia Mazhar will be giving a Thursday talk on "Are immigrants really a burden on our economy?"

Kathy Bergen has 30 years of experience in Israel-Palestine and recently retired form the Friends International Center in Ramallah, Palestine.
