How to configure access for individual guests

  1. Under your computer's Wi-Fi settings, select 'uw-wifi-setup-no-encryption' from the list of available networks.

  2. In the Join 'uw-wifi-setup-no-encryption' pop-up window, scroll down and select the 'Click here if you are a guest user' option.

  3. Enter your first name, last name, and email address into each respective field. Click 'I Agree' to continue.

  4. A confirmation code will be sent via email. Enter the code into the pop-up window to connect to the Wi-Fi. There may be a 10-minute window for you to enter the code before the process times out and needs to be restarted.

 How to configure access for events (setup for event organizers)

  1. Event organizer has to submit a request (helpdesk@uwaterloo.ca)   

  1. Request must include:  

  • The name of the event 

  • Start Date 

  • End Date 

  • Organizer’s name and email address 

  1. IST Service Desk will create the name and a password for the event and will sent the password to the organizer’s email address.

  3. Enter your first name, last name, email address, and password into each respective field. Click 'Submit' to connect your device
