This Cyber Security Awareness Month (Cyber Month), we want to take a moment to remind you of the importance of cyber security and the impact we can make as a Get Cyber Safe champion in our efforts to help Canadians step up their cyber fitness.

It’s important to prioritize our cyber fitness to protect our digital well-being. There are not many aspects of our personal and professional lives that can’t be affected by a cyber threat  as our world moves more online. From phishing attacks that steal sensitive information to malware that damages devices it’s important to know what to do to make sure your organization is prepared to react to cyber threats.

By embracing cyber security and motivating your coworkers, family and friends to do the same, we can protect ourselves from these threats and strengthen our online security together.

Engaging in cyber safe behaviour is like completing a set of reps to build your cyber security muscles. Everyone at Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering (MME) has a role to play in building a cyber safe community. Sharing Get Cyber Safe’s posts on social media, talking to others about the importance of cyber security and following cyber safe practices yourself are a few ways you can help others step up their cyber fitness this Cyber Month.

By working together, we can build our cyber security muscles and help create a safer digital landscape for all Canadians.

This year’s Cyber Month theme is all about stepping up your cyber fitness. As champions, we’ll help our audience get motivated to build their cyber safety muscles and strengthen their online security, and that includes all of us too. You can learn more about Cyber Month on the Protect yourself from cyber security threats or get cyber safe(government page)

Participating as Cyber Month champions means that MME will be engaging with Get Cyber Safe’s online campaign and sharing their expertise on cyber safety. We would love for you to get involved to help our audience step up their cyber fitness, as cyber security is a shared responsibility
