Reminder: Mandatory 2FA

Two-factor authentication will be required for many central services including Workday, Unit4, and Office 365 effective November 3rd, 2020.

Good afternoon Campus IT,

It’s Cybersecurity Awareness Month, and there’s no better way to participate than to protect your Waterloo computing account with two-factor authentication (2FA). We're less than one month away from requiring 2FA for many central services. Thanks to those who have stepped-up as 2FA Change Champions, our enrolment numbers are looking good, as we only have about a quarter of employees remaining to get signed-up for 2FA. If you have not done so already, I encourage you to act now to enrol, and encourage those in the areas you support to do so as well!

To get set-up on your smartphone,

  1. Install the appropriate app [Android app] [iPhone app]
  2. Visit https://2fa.uwaterloo.ca/duo/enrol
  3. Follow the instructions.

For those who have requested YubiKeys, we expect to have these delivered to people before October 26th.
