Your Waterloo Identity and Access Management (WatIAM) credentials provide access to University of Waterloo services such as Quest, LEARN, Workday, SharePoint, Nexus, and more.
Faculty, staff and students are assigned credentials (user ID and password) for logging into these and other campus systems.
The credentials are comprised of a user ID and password.
WatIAM user IDs are generated using the following algorithm: take the first letter of the first and middle name(s) followed by the complete last name. Truncate the result (if necessary) to eight characters. If the truncated result is not unique, insert the digit twp between the initials and the last name, truncate if necessary to eight characters, and again test for uniqueness. If uniqueness fails, repeat the process by replacing the digit two by three, then four, ... 999 until uniqueness is achieved, skipping numbers that contain zero or one to avoid confusion with the letters O and l. The untruncated result, after ensuring uniqueness in the first eight characters, is the WatIAM user ID.
On the Watiam site you can: Claim your identity (new users); recover your user id; recover your password, change your password and there is FAQ section as well
