Biography
Omar obtained his BEng in Industrial Engineering from King Saud University, Saudi Arabia. He then finished his MASc from MME department in Nanotechnology at Waterloo. Prior to joining IQC, Omar worked as an Electro-Optics Lab Researcher at Prince Sultan Advanced Technology Research Institute, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He is now a PhD student at the MME department and jointly at IQC in Nano-Photonics and Quantum Optics Lab, under co-supervision of Prof. Michal Bajcsy and Prof. Mustafa Yavuz.
Omar is a former director at the Saudi Council of Engineers (Industrial Engineering Chapter). He is also a recipient of King Saud University Award for Scientific Excellence in 2014.
