Biography
Saeed Takaloo graduated with a BSc degree in mechanical engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology in 2014, an MSc in mechatronics engineering from Sharif University of Technology in 2017, and a PhD in mechanical engineering from Tehran University in 2023. He began his second PhD in Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering at the University of Waterloo, specifically in the Nano and Micro Systems Lab, in January 2025. During his previous degrees, he learned the necessary knowledge and skills to design and fabricate biomedical and bioelectronic prototypes. His previous PhD thesis focused on developing a tattoo biosensor for CRP detection to monitor COPD patients’ status. Recently, he has been working on designing a portable plasmonic-FET biosensor device, which will be reusable, friendly to use, versatile, and consume minimal power.
