VivaSpire competing in Velocity Fund $25K finals

Wednesday, July 12, 2017

Join us in cheering on VivaSpire, the team of NE students who will be back at the Velocity Fund Finals on Thursday, July 20th, pitching their startup plans.

VivaSpire includes Chris Hajduk and John Grousopoulos. They are developing an innovative portable oxygen delivery system for patients in need of oxygen therapy.

Having recently won a Velocity Fund $5K prize intended to help early-stage companies grow their venture, VivaSpire will be pitching in the $25K competition for money to take their business to the next stage.

Velocity, the University of Waterloo’s leading entrepreneurship program, is the largest free startup incubator in the world. Each year, it offers $375,000 in equity-free funding to local startups through its Velocity Fund $25K, Hardware $10K and Velocity Fund $5K programs.

Every four months, Velocity Fund hosts a pitch competition in which finalists present their three-minute pitches in front of hundreds of spectators, to a panel of judges who represent local investment, startup and business communities. In choosing the winners, they consider innovation, market potential, market viability and overall pitch.
