Prof. Pandey was awarded the 2021 Harold A. Smith Outstanding Contribution Award by the Canadian Nuclear Society for outstanding contributions to the Canadian nuclear industry, in particular to reliability analysis and probabilistic methodologies for nuclear reactor component behavior.
The paper entitled "Probability Distribution of Maximum Load Generated by Stochastic Hazards Modeled as Shock, Pulse, and Alternating Renewal Processes" by Manzana, Pandey and van der Weide, received the award at the IMECE® International Mechanical Engineering Congress & Exposition, Virtual Conference November 16—19, 2020.
The paper entitled "Estimation of Economic Impacts of Climate-Driven Hazards Using Stochastic Process Model" by Bhadra and Pandey was chosen for as the Editor's Choice selection in the ASCE-ASME Journal of Risk and Uncertainty in Engineering Systems, Part A: Civil Engineering, 2024.
The paper entitled "An Unbiased Method for Probabilistic Fire Safety Engineers, Requiring a Limited Number of Model Evaluations" authored by R. Van Coile, G.P. Balamenos, M.D. Pandey, and R. Caspeele has received the Harry C. Bigglestone Award for 2018.

Prof. Pandey will be giving a keynote lecture at the upcoming 12th International Conference on Structural Safety & Reliability (ICOSSAR 2017) on August 6-10, 2017 in TU Wien, Vienna, Austria. The title of his talk is "Stochastic Renewal Processes in Structural Reliability Analysis: An Overview of Models and Applications".
Prof. Pandey is serving as an editor of the highly regarded international journal of "Reliability Engineering & System Safety" published by Elsevier in association with the European Safety and Reliability Association, and the Safety Engineering and Risk Analysis Division.
Reliability Engineering and System Safety is an international journal devoted to the development and application of methods for the enhancement of the safety and reliability of complex technological systems, like nuclear power plants, chemical plants,
