What is the ELI Student Leadership Team?
The ELI Student Leadership Team is a committee comprised of students studying in Renison's Bridge to Academic Success in English (BASE), English for Academic Success (EFAS), and Go Abroad: Learning for Sustainability (GOALS) programs. The team meets bi-weekly each term to create an educational and community-building event for Renison and UWaterloo students.
The ELI Student Leadership team is designed to help its members practise their English language skills, develop leadership skills through teamwork and collaboration, and gain Canadian volunteer experience.
Our Goals
The goals of the ELI Student Leadership Team include:
- Provide an opportunity for students studying in the BASE, EFAS, and GOALS programs to gain Canadian volunteer experience by completing a total of 20+ volunteer hours in one term.
- Develop English language confidence and skills in students studying in Renison's English Language Institute programs.
- Contribute to the student experience by hosting fun and education events developed and facilitated by students.
- Foster an environment of growth for BASE, EFAS, and GOALS students to improve on their leadership, collaboration, teamwork, and communication skills.
- Build a strong, inclusive community of student leadership within the ELI Leadership team.
