My partner/friend is not a UWaterloo or Renison student, but they would like to come on a bus trip with me. Can they also register?

Yes, they are welcome to register for bus trips. They will have to register on Renison's Events Portal with a separate form. When they answer "What program are you taking?" they can select "I am attending the event as an external guest."

Can I pay for bus trips with cash?

Online payments are preferred for bus trips. Please try to register using Renison's Events Portal. If you experience any technical difficulties or your payment does not work, you can connect with Thalia Criollo Guerrero in REN 0209 for an alternate solution.

Do I need an account to register for a bus trip?

No, you do not need an account to register. If you end up on the portal home page, select "Events" from the drop-down menu at the top of your screen to be re-directed to our list of events.

If an event does require a login, you can easily sign-in using your WatIAM credentials, or your email on file with the English Language Institute.

What can I expect on a bus trip?

Renison bus trips make it easy for you to explore different Canadian cities and experience the city of Waterloo.

On the day of your bus trip, you will meet the Renison Peer Leaders in the Renison Atrium to sign-in for the trip. You will then take a school bus from Renison to your destination. Once you arrive, you are free to explore the city however you like. Your Peer Leaders can recommend sites to see and places to visit in the city, or you can explore together!

For Deluxe Bus Trips and local bus trips (like Bowling or SkyZone), your Peer Leaders will provide extra instructions regarding the locations and activities you'll participate in.

At the end of the bus trip, the group will check-in with the Peer Leaders once again before boarding the bus to return to Renison.

What is included in the cost of the bus trips?

Bus-only trips includes your transportation from Renison to the trip destination and back. On average, this cost is $35 + tax.

Deluxe trips are $125 to $150 + tax and also include one excursion and one meal.

Trips that have an admission cost (ex. Canada's Wonderland, Kitchener Rangers Hockey Games) will also include your admission tickets.

Renison bus trips are not subsidized. Renison does not profit from bus trips. The cost of the bus trips covers the cost of the bus rental and Peer Leader wages. Any excess funds are used for future events at Renison.
