Renison is searching for student representation on some college committees this year!
If you are interested in contributing your voice and ideas to Renison's work for student wellness, improved accessibility, and education, please consider joining one of the following committees for 2022-2023!
- The Student Wellness Committee is seeking student representatives from all areas of Renison to share perspectives on how the college community can best support students' physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing. You will have the chance to suggest, discuss, and implement initiatives that improve student wellbeing. The committee meets twice per term and uses advocacy, event planning, and information sharing to improve student wellness.
- If you are interested, please email Bethany Dixon and Scott McLeod by Friday, September 23, 2022. We are happy to answer any questions you have about the committee!
- The Accessibility Matters Committee works on issues of accessibility at Renison, including physical accessibility of the building, accessibility of course materials, and any other accessibility concerns experienced by students, staff, and faculty at Renison. Representation of perspectives from Renison housing will help improve accessibility for students in residence and throughout the college. The committee meets once per month from September-June, and we would love to have you join us!
- If you are interested, please email Bethany Dixon and Scott McLeod by Friday, September 23, 2022. We are happy to answer any questions you have about the committee!

The Student Affairs and Community Education (SACE) Council is the Renison body responsible for student affairs and community and professional education initiatives at Renison. Student Affairs includes Housing, Student Life, Renison International Office, and Student Wellness. Community and Professional Education (CAPE) includes Bridge to Academic Success in English (BASE), English for Academic Success (EFAS), General English at Renison (GEAR), all other programs within the English Language Institute (ELI), Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) programs, and Renison courses, programs, and microcredentials that are not for University of Waterloo credit. Two student representatives are voting members on SACE Council – one student from residence and one student from CAPE. Student reps are asked to attend meetings, participate in discussions and decisions, and then report back to their constituents on any matters that are relevant to them. SACE Council meetings are held twice per term for 1.5 hours. The meetings will take place online in the Fall 2022 term. SACE Council has not yet decided if meetings in the Winter or Spring 2023 terms will take place online, in-person, or hybrid format.
