The Safe Interactions Lab and Active & Interactive Robotics Lab (A.I.R. Lab) launched a new collaborative project titled “Children and Parents’ Mental Models of Security and Privacy in Humanoid Robots” to investigate families’ perceptions of security and privacy risks associated with robots for education and entertainment. The project is co-led by Professor Leah Zhang-Kennedy (Stratford School) and Professor Yue Hu (Faculty of Engineering) and funded by UWaterloo’s Cybersecurity and Privacy Institute (CPI) and RoboHub.

Leah presented our work on "Passenger Perceptions, Information Preferences, and Usability of Crowding Visualizations on Public Displays in Transit Stations and Vehicles" at CHI 2023 in Hamburg, Germany. The work resulted from a one-year research collaboration between the Stratford School, Rogers Communications Canada, and Halion Displays.
