  • Integrated a Human Body Model with passive restraints and full vehicle models
  • Recreated a physical side impact scenario from a crash database to validate the model
  • Applied the model to understand a previously unanswered question regarding side impact safety
  • Established methodology enabling implementation of the computational Human Body Models in the design process of passenger vehicles

  • Developed methodology of predicting rib fractures under thoracic impact conditions with use of a computational Human Body Model

  • Demonstrated the effect of imperfections on deformation pattern of thin-walled crash tubes for automotive applications
  • Analyzed microstructures and hardness profiles of hot forging dies to estimate wear
  • Reviewed potential for application of the artificial intelligence in an expert system software to optimize hot forging tools durability

 

Project Engineer, Takata-Petri AG, Berlin, Germany (Jun 2008-Nov 2009)

  • Developed computational models of frontal driver- and passenger airbags, and of seat-mounted airbags. Models were validated with respect to physical components, and integrated with computational models of vehicles at the design stage for a preliminary safety assessment.
  • Developed computational model of a seatbelt preventing rib fractures in elderly occupants
