Process Improvement Analyst - Full-time summer Internship (May 2017 – September 2017)
-
Performed statistical analyses to clean and arbitrate operational input data from the manufacturing system in Java and Python.
-
Formulated metrics on operational input data and performed distribution fittings with outlier exclusion along with developing visualization tools for processed data.
-
Formulated a mathematical model in Gurobi to find an optimal/near-optimal solution of the multimode resource constrained scheduling problem with disruptions.
-
Used a Gurobi Java interface to allow scalability for solving the scheduling problem and developed a user interface which can be used to modify the input data to the optimization problem.
-
Assisted in system requirements gathering, data collection, presentations, and in technical documents preparation.
Skills: Java, Python, R, Mathematical modeling, Combinatorial Optimization.
Capstone System Design project (ECE)-Electrical systems lead (August 2017 – May 2018)
-
Led the electrical sub-team consisting of 6 electrical engineers out of 21 engineers that designed a semi-autonomous multi-rover system for Mars exploration, sponsored by NASA JPL.
-
Designed and implemented a low-power local communication protocol based on Zigbee technology to allow 3 different rovers to communicate sensor data and emergency messages in a mesh.
-
Designed and implemented a custom Zigbee controller to tank-drive the rover achieving full degrees of freedom.
Skills: C, Python, Wireless Networking protocols, System modeling language (SysML)
