Mehrez Agnaou is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Chemical Engineering Department, University of Waterloo. He received both a Masters and PhD in Fluid Dynamics from Ecole Centrale de Lyon and Arts et Métiers ParisTech, respectively.

He worked on modeling single and two-phase, purely viscous and inertial flows in porous media and upscaling the microscopic mass and momentum conservation equations. He also collaborated with Shell Canada during two years optimizing the design of their bitumen upgrading reactors using computational fluid dynamics of two-phase flow.

He is currently working on water treatment and desalination problems and is collaborating for the development and optimization of the open-source pore network modeling package OpenPNM.
