Manaf Bin-Yahya is a Senior Research Engineer at Huawei Technologies Canada Co. Ltd working on data-driven networking, transport protocols, WAN, datacenter networks, and AI infrastructure.
He completed his Ph.D. from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Waterloo, ON, Canada. He received a Master's degree from the Computer Engineering Department at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, in 2016. He received a B.S. degree in computer science and engineering from Aden University, Aden, Yemen, in 2010. His research interests lie in the area of Network Security, Wireless Sensors Network (WSN), Software Defined Networks (SDN), Distributed Systems, Trust Management, and Digital Forensics
Manaf did his Ph.D. degree under the supervision of Professor Xuemin (Sherman) Shen. He worked on the trust management and proactive defense mechanism for Software-Defined WSNs (SDWSNs). He was a member of the Broadband Communications Research (BBCR) Laboratory at the University of Waterloo.
