Selected Treaties

Fifteen modern treaties were selected from across Canada for the basis of our research. Modern treaties were selected because of their importance to First Nations communities and their binding legal requirements for Canada. They were selected in consultation with collaborators from the International Inter-Tribal Trade and Investment Organization (ITTIO), Indigenous Rights Centre (IRC), and Centre of International Sustainable Development Law (CISDL) and evaluated based on their relevance to each SDG target.
