Jacob is a MASc student in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering in the Collaborative Water Program. He received a BASc in Civil Engineering from Queen’s University, Kingston Ontario. Jacob has experience working as a geotechnical field technician, in geoscience sample preparation, and as a research assistant in the fields of sustainable materials and wastewater treatment. Past research focuses include sustainable concrete design and constructed wetlands. Jacob’s current MASc research is focused on the use of nanotechnology for enhanced site characterization at hydrocarbon contaminated sites using geophysical methods. His research makes use of X-ray CT as a lab scale proxy to assess the suitability of nanoparticles as imaging contrast agents for field scale geophysical techniques.
