Yunxiao is a part-time PhD student in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. He is also a full-time R&D Engineer with Beijing Construction Engineering Group -Environmental Remediation Co., Ltd. based in Beijing, China. Yunxiao received his MSc from the University of Waterloo in Hydrogeology/Organic Geochemistry. He also received his BSc in Environmental Science at the University of Waterloo and BEng in Environmental Engineering at the University of Science and Technology, Beijing. Yunxiao has research experience with sulfate enhanced bioremediation of petroleum hydrocarbon sources using multiple analytical tools including modeling, on-line monitoring probes, geochemical indicators, molecular biological tools and environmental isotopes.  His current research interests focuses on former manufactured gas plant remediation technologies.
