Jason was born in the city of Daegu, South Korea, but spent his years of growing up in the city of Vaughan, Canada. He obtained his bachelor's degree in civil engineering at the University of Waterloo in June 2022. Soon after in September 2022, he started his M.A.Sc at the University of Waterloo under the supervision of Prof. Walbridge. Jason’s thesis undertakes the study of fatigue and fracture toughness of wire-arc additively manufactured (WAAM) structural steel products. His project involves the testing of numerous small-scale specimens under impact and high cycle fatigue loading. In his free time, Jason enjoys reading books and playing the guitar.
