Calgary Summit of Philosophers of Science

Carla Fehr attended the Calgary Summit of Philosophers of Science on Sept. 26 and 27, 2014 at the University of Calgary.

The topic of The Summit was future approaches for the philosophy of biology. Six extensive discussions started with talks by John Dupre  (Exeter), Philip Kitcher (Columbia), Helen E. Longino (Stanford), Elliott Sober (Wisconsin-Madison), C. Kenneth Waters (Calgary), and William Wimsatt (Chicago) and comments by John Beatty (British Columbia), Marc Ereshefsky (Calgary), Carla Fehr (Waterloo), Lisa Gannett (Saint Mary's), Mohan Matthen (Toronto), and Robert Wilson (Alberta). The Summit also included a poster forum where Canadian students and postdoctoral fellows could present their research.
