Heather Douglas is the chair of science and society in the University of Waterloo’s department of philosophy. Douglas, an American who has only been in the country for 15 months, is still a little shocked by the naked and unapologetic manner in which the Harper government is going about it all, as well as the muted response of most Canadians.
If this was happening in the States, we’d be well past the tipping point, she says. This is the kind of thing that makes Americans go crazy.
