Paola Ortiz Suarez

Paola joined the Servos Lab as an Analytical Chemistry Technician, supporting a range of projects focused on environmental contaminants and wastewater monitoring. Her work centered on the analysis of pharmaceuticals and drugs of abuse in wastewater, helping to develop and apply analytical methods for monitoring emerging contaminants in aquatic systems.

In addition to wastewater-based research, Paola was involved in optimizing extraction and analytical methods for the measurement of contaminants in fish tissues. Her work supported ongoing studies examining the fate, bioaccumulation, and potential effects of contaminants in aquatic organisms.

Through these projects, Paola contributed to method development, sample preparation, chemical extraction, and instrumental analysis, helping to generate high-quality data for both environmental monitoring and research applications.
