Research Interests
Heather joined the team in January 2022 managing the SARS-CoV2 wastewater surveillance project in the Servos lab until October 2023. She was responsible for supervising the co-op students and technicians that conduct the influent sample processing, analysis, and quantification of SARS-CoV2. She also contributed to the data analysis and communication of the results to the regional health units (Region of Waterloo, Peel, and York).
She graduated from her PhD studying fish stress and its impact on microRNA (supervised by Dr. Paul Craig and Dr. Barb Katzenback; University of Waterloo) and hopes to continue in the study of the environmental impacts on the molecular and physiological processes of organisms.
