Research Interests
Narasimman is a PhD candidate in Civil Engineering, co-supervised by Dr. Wayne Parker and Dr. Mark Servos. His research investigates the performance of a full-scale, hybrid Membrane Aerated Biofilm Reactor (MABR) design for municipal wastewater treatment. The project specifically addresses energy efficient nutrient removal, removal of organic micropollutants, characterizing biofilm properties, and modeling MABR process.
Narasimman earned his Bachelor’s degree (with Honors) in Civil Engineering from SASTRA University, India and Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from University of Cincinnati, USA. Previously, he was working as an onsite research contractor to the US Environmental Protection Agency studying the fate of chemical, biological, and radiological contaminants in water/wastewater infrastructure.
