PhD (Graduated Fall 2017)

Research Interests

I completed my undergraduate studies in Ecology and Environment Protection at University of Novi Sad in Serbia.  At the same place I graduated with a Master’s degree and my project focused on aquatic toxicology in particular the sensitivity of aquatic macrophytes to herbicide contamination. Determination to enrich my knowledge inspired me to search for professional training outside my home country and I finally found this great opportunity to progress and continue my education at University of Waterloo.

As a part of Servos lab research team I am learning how the emerging environmental stressors of anthropogenic origin in waste water effluent relate to endocrine disruption in different fish species. My research interests are specifically focused on contaminants that act as androgen antagonists, also referred to as antiandrogens, their mechanism of action, their identification and determination of relevant endpoints affected by exposure to these stressors.

Patricija is now a PDF at the University of Waterloo (Global Water Futures).
