MSc (Graduated 2009)

Research Interests

Susan Huestis was the first MSc student in the Servos Lab and was co-supervised by Prof. D. George Dixon. Her research focused on evaluating temporal and age-related trends of dioxins and co-planar PCBs in Lake Ontario lake trout, contributing to long-term understanding of contaminant dynamics in top predator fish.

Her work helped characterize how persistent organic pollutants vary over time and across age classes in aquatic food webs, providing important insight into contaminant bioaccumulation and ecosystem health in the Great Lakes.

She went on to become a Chemist with Fisheries and Oceans Canada.
