BSW Field Education Placement - Unpaid

Optometry Clinic – Bachelor level placement

The School of Optometry & Vision Science is pleased to announce that we will be providing a clinical placement for BSW students from the School of Social Work at University of Waterloo – located at Renison University College.

Join us for a free public education event in celebration of the School of Optometry & Vision Science's 50th Anniversary. Come learn more about current issues in eye health. Children’s activities will be available.

The Low Vision Clinic / Centre for Sight Enhancement will have a booth at the event - stop by and see us!

The first 100 people to register will receive a goodie bag, so register early! There will be door prizes as well. The grand prize is a free LASIK eye surgery from TLC Laser Eye Centre.

For the second year, the Centre for Sight Enhancement has organized a trip to the Stratford Festival to see a described audio performance of As You Like It.  This lively performance is set in Newfoundland.  During a light lunch before the show, Dr. Ted McGee will break down the play  in an entertaining way.

During the performance a live audio describer gives details of costumes, sets and key on-stage action. Delivered via headset, the description supplements the spoken dialogue without interfering with it.
