    In the Social Development Lab we study how children interact with one another and how they make friends. We are currently looking for, motivated, reliable, and independent research assistants to help us collect and code observational data.

    Research Area: shyness, friendship formation, socioemotional development

    Duties: We are looking for volunteers and/or Psych 264 students who are eager to assist with a variety of research tasks, including collecting online data with pairs of children for an ongoing study of friendship development and/or coding previously collected observational data of children’s peer interactions.

    Qualifications:

    · We are looking for highly motivated and detail-oriented students with excellent work ethic with a strong interest in shyness and friendship formation

    · Applicant should have at least an 80% average in their completed psychology courses.

    · Prior research experience is an asset but not required.
