Are you interested in hands-on learning of Matlab, a technical computing language with many applications? Our session at the end of September will feature a hands-on workshop led by Frederick Cheng, in which you will be paired with an experienced Matlab as your mentor as you go through our prepared material.
Join us for a panel discussion aimed at exploring Indigenous perspectives on water issues. The panelists are Terrylynn Brant, Vanessa Gray, and Rachel Thevenard. Amy Smoke will be moderating the discussion and there will be an opportunity to ask questions.
The panel is a collaborative initiative between the Aboriginal Education Centre and SWIGS. The Aboriginal Education Centre is located at St. Paul's University College, Room 232.
There will be coffee, tea and treats. We hope to see you there!
Our workshop this month will be on Geographic Information System (GIS), held concurrently with the Waterloo Geospatial Club. Need to use GIS in your research, or simply want to learn a highly valuable and employable skill for future work? Be sure to sign up for our workshop
Our friendly neighbours at the School of Architecture are hosting an exhibition on water resources. SWIGS will be making a presence there and are inviting all of our members to visit and build some BRIDGES with our architecture friends (yes you will likely hear that joke a lot).
