Eco Summit 2021: Youth Leading the Way for Climate Action

The Sustainability Office invites you to attend the 2021 Eco Summit: Youth Leading the Way for Climate Action on November 24th and November 25th.  

Climate change is here, and it is young people who will face the worst impacts. UW has shown that they play a critical role in supporting students and alumni youth changemakers in Climate Action by creating an environment which fosters support and innovation.The goal of the 2021 Eco Summit is to showcase UW initiatives and highlight students and alumni climate changemakers to motivateother UWWarriors. 

To highlight campus initiatives and showcase UW’s youth changemakers, the Sustainability Office welcomes everyone to further explore and sign up for each event apart of the Eco Summit 2021: 

Eco Summit 2021: Main Event – November 24th 10:00am-11:00am 

The main event will look to highlight campus initiatives over the past year while launching the 2021 Sustainability Report.  

10:00-10:10 am - Land Acknowledgement & Opening Remarks 

10:10-10:20 am - A glance at the past year with Mathew Thijssen, Director of Sustainability 

10:20-10:40 am - 5 Minute Campus highlights from Staff, Faculty & Students 

10:40-10:50 am - Green Office & Green Labs Certificates 

10:50-11:00 am - Closing Remarks 

Youth & Climate Action Panel Discussion - November 25th 11:00am-12:00pm 

The panel discussion will bring together, researchers, students, and alumni to discuss the important role youth play in Climate Action.

This Speed Networking will bring together young people to meet with one another, learn from their experiences and discuss how they take action for Climate.
