All staffing is done, per contract, at the discretion of the Theatre Manager, and is subject to the Employment Standards Act and specific policies of the Theatre of the Arts. For example:
- All staff are entitled to a paid 15 minute break after 2 hours of work and a 1 hour meal break after 5 hours of work.
- Labour will be charged at 1.5 times hourly after 8 hours work and 2 times hourly after 10 hours work and on statutory holidays.
- The theatre will not be open without staff as determined by the Theatre Manager.
- A meal penalty of $50 will be charged for each staff member that is required to work more than 5 hours without a meal break.
