Friday, April 7, 2017

The Master of Theological Studies program at Conrad Grebel University College invites applications for a one-course contract teaching appointment in Fall 2017.  The course to be offered is a Special Topics course in the discipline of theology.  Applicants are invited to propose a course or two in an area of interest or specialization.

The Theological Studies program attracts students from a range of academic and denominational backgrounds.  About half of the students in the program are in the Applied Studies option, pursuing ministry in some form.  Class sizes range from 6 to 14.  A list of recent and future course offerings are available here.

To apply, send a CV, a cover letter that highlights teaching experience and suitability to teach in this program, and a brief (1/2 to 1 page) description of the course or courses proposed to teach.   A full syllabus is not expected, but applicants should indicate course title, sub-themes, methods, key texts, and basic teaching philosophy.  The successful candidate will normally have a completed PhD in the relevant area and teaching experience.  The stipend will be $8,082.  Send application to Melodie Sherk (melodie.sherk@uwaterloo.ca), Administrative Assistant for Theological Studies, by April 19, 2017.
